The difference between LED floodlights and LED spotlights

I believe that most people, like me, have only heard of LED street lights and have not heard of LED floodlights and LED spotlights. So, what are LED floodlights and LED spotlights, and what is the difference between them? Let’s take a look together.

1.What is an LED floodlight?
LED floodlights, also known as spotlights, projection lights, and floodlights, are mainly used for architectural decoration lighting and commercial space lighting. They have heavier decorative components and a rounded or square appearance. Because heat dissipation needs to be considered, their shape still differs somewhat from traditional floodlights.

2.What is an LED spotlight?
An LED spotlight is a point light source that can evenly illuminate in all directions. Its illumination range can be adjusted arbitrarily and appears as a regular octahedron in the scene. Spotlights are used to create various light sources for rendering, with standard spotlights used to illuminate the entire scene. Multiple spotlights can be applied to a scene to produce better effects. Spotlights are widely used light sources for rendering. In a scene, multiple spotlights can be used to coordinate effects for better results. It uniformly illuminates objects from specific points in all directions, providing better lighting than simulated bulbs and candles. Spotlights can be placed anywhere in the scene. For instance, they can be placed outside the camera’s range or inside objects. It is common to use spotlights of many different colors in a scene. These spotlights can cast shadows and blend into the model. Due to their large illumination range, spotlights are easy to predict and have many auxiliary uses. For example, if a spotlight is placed close to an object’s surface, it will be on the object’s surface, producing bright light.

It should be noted that too many spotlights cannot be built, as this will make the rendering appear dim and lacking brightness. Therefore, in typical renderings, more emphasis is placed on the impact of lighting parameters and layout on the overall lighting feel of the rendering scene, accumulating experience and mastering lighting matching techniques.
