What issues should be paid attention to when installing traffic signal poles? The main components of the urban road traffic signal pole include steel pole, foundation, cantilever, bracket arm, pull rod, and fixing accessories. Here are the main points to consider:

1.Traffic Signal Pole Components
Steel pole, flange plate, anchor bolts, nuts, washers, reinforcement bars, and other metal components such as cantilevers, support arms, pull rods, clamp seats, and clamps should meet the anti-corrosion performance requirements specified in GB/T18226.

2.Traffic Signal Pole

When using steel poles for motor vehicle signal lights, it is advisable to use round or multi-faceted steel pipes treated with hot-dip galvanizing. There should be wire holes at a distance of 0.3m to 1.0m from the ground on the pole, equipped with a waterproof eaves, cover plate, and fixing screws. At the installation point of the luminaires, there should be exit wire holes, equipped with rubber sleeves, and cable bends with water hooks. The top of the pole should be fitted with a plastic or corrosion-treated metal waterproof pipe cap, and the bottom of the pole should be welded with a fixed flange, with reinforcement bars evenly welded between the flange and the pole body.

For non-motor vehicle lane signal light poles, it is recommended to use round hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, with wire holes at a distance of 0.3m to 0.8m from the ground.

For pedestrian crossing signal light poles, it is advised to use round hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, with wire holes at a distance of 0.2m to 0.5m from the ground.

The color of the signal pole body should be gray or silver-gray.

The installation foundation for signal poles is best done using ground anchor concrete foundations. The anchor bolt should have threads at the top and a bend or similar anti-pull structure with an angle less than 60° at the bottom, welded to the lower flange.

The diameter of the pre-embedded wire conduit should be greater than Φ50mm, with a bending angle greater than 120°.

The grounding resistance of the traffic signal pole should be less than 10Ω.

During installation, ensure that the pole body is vertical, with a tilt angle not exceeding ±0.5%.

Cantilevers, support arms, pull rods, and fixing accessories can be made using round or multi-faceted variable-section profiles. The connection end of the cantilever and the pole should be welded with a fixed flange, with entry and exit wire holes at the bottom of the cantilever.

Pull rods are best made of round steel and come with an adjustable spiral buckle on one end, with the diameter and length determined according to the cantilever length. Support arms can be connected and fixed to the pole using clamps and clamp seats. Pull rods can be connected and secured to the pole, pull rods to the cantilever, and support arms to the cantilever using clamps. Hot-dip galvanized bolts, nuts, and washers should be used during installation, with spring washers for tightening.
